We carefully craft our travel itineraries and always combine sports and adventure activities with culinary and cultural immersions, with the locals themselves promoting the customs and traditions of their areas. Our primary focus is on all-inclusive private guided tours that provide unforgettable experiences for our guests.

In recent years, our efforts to promote experiential/slow/adventure travel in Asturias have been recognized by leading Spanish and European media such as Oxígeno Magazine, National Geographic Traveler, WideOyster Magazine or Lonely Planet’s Guide to the Best Experiences in Spain.

We are passionate about travel and Asturias, and our local knowledge and passion for everything related to our land are second to none.

Asturias, Spain, June 2022. Riding the Camín Real de la Mesa on horseback with Avelino Ardura, a local Vaqueiro and Horseriding guide. The Vaqueiros de Alzada are a northern Spanish nomadic people that once roamed the mountains of Asturias with their cattle. This section of the route continues along the old Roman road through the Concejo de Belmonte, and is a good example of 'off the beaten track. The route passes through fields, hills and meadows we are more likely to meet wolves or wranglers than hikers. In Asturias the steep Cantabrian Mountains, with their rolling green valleys meet the coastline where they abruptly drop off into the deep blue Cantabrian Sea. Bears & Waves presents a 100% tailor-made travel program that invites you to explore the natural diversity of the Spanish region of Asturias. Photo by Frits Meyst / MeystPhoto.com

Asturias, Spain, June 2022. Only 10 years ago, the Cantabrian brown bear was in serious danger of extinction and it was almost impossible to spot a specimen in Somiedo. Today, thanks to the work of several associations working side by side with the public administration, for the conservation of the bear and other native species, this species is recovering and, if you know its customs well, it can be easily seen. In the self-guided trips, they will be the link between each area you will visit through the travel itinerary, while in the group trips, you will have a tour leader who will accompany you at all times.

In any case, you will always be welcomed by a friendly team of people who will share their love for the land you are about to visit.
